Once you pick up your envelopes and the label at the top has your name on it, you will not need to record your name on each envelope; the number identifies you and a tax receipt will be sent to you at the address you registered with.

NELSON DIOCESAN YOUTH RALLY:- Attention all high school students.  Come and gather in Penticton on the weekend of October 17th – 19th.  Rediscover your faith, be part of the youth community and have fun in the process. Registration forms are available at either church entrance.  Please return them to our parish office before October 1, 2008.

50th Anniversary:- Our parish is looking for volunteers to work on St. Pius Xth 50th anniversary celebration.  Please contact the office if you can help.

Pictorial directory:- Our parish is planning a pictorial directory to celebrate our 50th anniversary.  There will be a photographer coming to our parish on Jan 13th – 17th.  For those who are going south, and wishing to be a part of the directory, please drop off a recent wallet size picture at the office with your names on the back.

Attention all families:- Kelowna will be participating in the 6th Annual Worldwide Children’s Eucharistic Holy Hour.  It will be held at St. Pius X on Oct 3rd at 7pm.  Please bring a snack for the reception in the hall afterwards.  Let the children come to me, says the Lord, Do not stop them.

BAzaar News:- The estimated return from the bazaar is $16,100.  Thanks to all who participated to make our bazaar a success.  A special thanks to all the people who worked the bazaar.  God bless you for your efforts.

ADULT EDUCATION:- Are you interested in a course similar to ALPHA?  TOUCHING JESUS is an eight week course which will be offered starting on Monday, October 6th at 6:30 pm.  We will begin with dessert & coffee followed by a video presentation then a short discussion.  Come and enjoy good fellowship. Gospel Mission:- Our parish is hoping to help out with supplying a meal or two at the Gospel Mission.  Those who are interested in this type of involvement, please contact the office.

 Immaculate Conception Parish Bazaar:-

Plan to attend the Immaculate Conception Parish Bazaar on Saturday, October 4, 2008 (8:00 am to 2:00 pm).  We will have a fantastic silent auction, baked goods, plants, treasures, arts and crafts, books and music, bottle booth, farmer's market, hamburgers, coffee house and a huge white elephant room.  The parish hall is located at 839 Sutherland Avenue (between Richter and Ellis).  We look forward to seeing you!

An all-candidates forum:- The evening of Monday, October 6th, 2008, is scheduled as an all-candidates forum. It will take place at Christ Lutheran Church on Gordon Dr (just south of Springfield), beginning at 7pm. Central Okanagan Ministerial and Kelowna KAIROS will be sponsoring and hosting this event, and questions about social justice will be asked, as well as moderated questions from the public gathered there.

Pro-Life:-

Mayor Sharon Shepherd has declared the week of September 28 - October 4 as "Protect Human Life Week" and the Kelowna Right to Life Society has a number of events planned for the occasion.

As part of Kelowna's "Protect Human Life Week," Kelowna Right to Life is excited to bring you the first ever Okanagan Pro Life Film Festival, Friday evening October 3rd at Evangel Church on Gordon Drive. Rosary for peace & for families:- The rosary is prayed for peace and for families every Friday at 3:00pm in ICC church.  Please join us.

Life in the Spirit Retreat:- You are invited to participate in a weekend Retreat at St. John Vianney Church, beginning the evening of Friday Oct. 17th and all day Saturday, Oct. 18th.  The purpose of the Retreat is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into a deeper experience of prayer and into a more intimate relationship with God.
