RELIGIOUS EDUCATION There were about 63% of our Catholic children with no means for religious education. After a rather intense meeting of the three parish councils of St. Pius X, Immaculate Conception Church and St. Theresa's, with Fr. Mulvihill, Fr. Anderson and Fr. Trainor respectively present and after much serious deliberation, we finally brought forth the idea of a C.C.D. program (an updated Catechism program). In order to bring this new religious education program into being we had to get outside help. The three priests with the Bishop were successful in obtaining Sister Benedicta, from the Ursula Convent, Regina. Sister first spearheaded a training program consisting of a series of workshops to prepare mothers and fathers, who would then teach children. The program bore double fruit, in the sense that the new religious teachers had to first update their own spiritual knowledge and many became and still are very fine teachers.
