DIOCESAN YOUTH RALLY:- Attention all high school students.
Come and gather in Penticton on the weekend of October 17th
– 19th. Rediscover

STUDY DAYS:- Due to the annual priest study
days at Seton House, there will be no weekday masses at St. Pius X on Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday. Please

JESUS THROUGH THE CHURCH:- is an
eight week series exploring the Catholic Church. Come and join us at St.
Pius X Church on Monday, October 6 at 6:30 PM as we begin this series of video
talks given by noted professor of theology Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio.
The talks are practical, entertaining, and enlightening and are faithful to
the orthodox teachings of the Catholic Church. We will begin with desert
and coffee followed by the video then a short discussion period.
Touching Jesus Through the Church covers such topics as Who needs the Catholic
Church; Getting More out of the Mass; and Personal Prayer. It is meant
to answer key questions for new as well as life-long Catholics. Phone

We will be collecting food donations for the Kelowna Food Bank at all masses

Pastoral visitors:- A number of our parishioners visit the
sick and shut-in members of our parish in the hospital, in nursing homes and in
their own homes on a regular basis. We
meet on the first Wednesday of the month for growth opportunities and support.

AT SANDLEWOOD:- There will not be a mass at
Sandalwood this week. There will be
a Liturgy of the Word by Sr. Mary Ann. Gospel Mission:- Our
parish is hoping to help out with supplying a meal or two at the Gospel Mission.

well deserved holiday. We are

all-candidates forum:- The
evening of Monday, October 6th, 2008, is scheduled as an all-candidates forum.
It will take place at Christ Lutheran Church on Gordon Dr (just south of
Springfield), beginning at 7pm. Central Okanagan Ministerial and Kelowna KAIROS
will be sponsoring and hosting this event, and questions about social justice

having "Stands Against Poverty & Homelessness" on: Pro-Life:- Mayor Sharon Shepherd has
declared the week of September 28 - October 4 as "Protect Human Life Week" and
the Kelowna Right to Life Society has a number of events planned for the
occasion. Sunday October 5 will see
the annual Life Chain take place in
Kelowna at the corner of Gordon Drive and Harvey Avenue. Participants are
asked to gather in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen at 1:45 pm. Rosary for peace & for families:- The rosary is prayed for peace and for
families every Friday at 3:00pm in ICC church.
Please join us. Life in the Spirit Retreat:- You are invited to participate in a
weekend Retreat at St. John Vianney Church, beginning the evening of Friday Oct.
17th and all day Saturday, Oct. 18th. The
purpose of the Retreat is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into a deeper

MASS SCHEDULE CHANGE ICC:- Next Sunday only, October 12th,
the 5:30 PM Mass at Immaculate Conception Church will be cancelled and replaced
with a 1 PM Mass. Many Canadians
celebrate Thanksgiving with the main dinner on Sunday, leaving Monday for
travel. We anticipate that there
would be a low attendance during the dinner hour, necessitating the change.
Sorry for any inconvenience. The
regular 5:30 PM Mass will resume as scheduled on 19 October.
