OZANAM HOUSE FUNDRAISING DINNER

Ozanam House is an 18-bed transition house for men in recovery.  The house is owned and managed by the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of the Central Okanagan.

Please join us for our First Annual Fundraising Dinner to be held Thu Oct 21th at 6:00 pm at Saint Charles Garnier Parish Hall.  Tickets are $30 and the evening will include a roast beef dinner, non-alcoholic beverages, door prizes, live music by Ceol na h’Eireann, a 50/50 draw and silent auction.

All proceeds will go to the Ozanam House Education Fund, which assists residents with re-training costs, leading to a return employment and independent living.  For tickets and information, please call Ozanam House at 250-762-HOPE or Alison Grenier at 250-764-3173.

GRIEF TO GRACE

Applications for the next Grief to Grace program to be held at Seton House Nov.18th to 21st 2010 are now being accepted.  Grief to Grace - Reclaiming the Gift of Sexual Dignity is a spiritual journey for anyone who has suffered degradation or violation through sexual abuse, rape, incest, physical or emotional abuse and neglect or other forms of traumatic violation in childhood, adolescence or as an adult.  To register or for more information call 250‑878‑7603 or e-mail: g2gkelowna@shaw.ca.

   BIG FISHERMAN  

A very upset minister walked into the fish market. “I want you to throw me four big fish,” he said to the clerk. “Just toss ‘em to me.”

“But why toss them to you?” the fishmonger asked. “Can’t I just wrap them and give them to you like everyone else?”

“No, sir!” yelled the preacher. “Do just as I say, So if anyone asks me if I caught any fish today, I can truthfully say, ‘Sure did. Caught four big ones!’”

Thanks to all the ladies who came out to help with the Perogies, Cabbage rolls etc.  The help was greatly appreciated and made the sales a big success.

Thanks also to the people involved in the apple pie making.  The total for the apple pies to the Parish is $2,898.50.

QUILTER’S THANK YOU

The quilters would like to thank all the parishioners for their help in selling the quilt tickets. It was a great success with the total of over $4,000.  The lucky winner was Lorraine Winget.

PRAYER DURING THE DAY

Any parishioner who would like to pray in the church between the hours of 9:30 am – noon or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm can simply come to the office and they will be let in.

MILITIA IMMACULATA

The monthly mass will be celebrated on Thursday evening, Oct14th.  Confessions will be available from 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm.  Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm.  Mass at 7:00 pm at Immaculate Conception.  Celebrant will be Fr.
