AND PEACE - FALL ACTION:-
The Fall Action of Development and Peace this year will concentrate on the
problem of hunger in our world. More
and more people are going hungry, not because there is a lack of food in the
world but because the food is not accessible to them.
For many years there has been a movement toward large scale
multinational industrial agriculture in places where people use to grow their
own food. In addition, using land
for industrial purposes such as agro-fuels has discouraged local production of
traditional foods. For our 2009
campaign Development & Peace is deepening the theme of food sovereignty
that was introduced last year. There
is a growing consensus that there is a need for all people to return to
growing locally more of the food that they eat.
Contact Jeanette or Les Atwell at (250) 861‑4242 or ljatwell@shaw.ca or visit www.devp.org/campaign
for more information. PERPETUAL
ADORATION:-
Our communal worship at Mass must be together with our personal worship of
Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration in order that our love may be complete. (Pope John Paul II)
Jesus is waiting for you. For

WHO:-
The Catholic National Evangelization Team of Canada, NET Team, will be
visiting Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Nov 16th. We would like to
invite all youth or young adults (Grades 8-12) to join us that night for a
spiritual event of prayer, praise and worship. The topic is “Jesus Who?”
It address the question of who is Jesus in today’s society and what does He
have to offer us in our everyday life. Many young people have busy schedules
and find it difficult to make ‘time’ for Jesus. Discover how putting Jesus
first actually gives us freedom, hope and love.

small fee of $10 per person payable at the door. Registration begins at 5:30pm

Pope
Pius X Pope Pius X’s wrote “Was it not the ‘men
in the street’ for whom our saviour came?
Were not the crowds who followed Him mostly composed of ‘men in the
street’? And did He not choose
from their ranks the Apostles who were to carry His message throughout the
world? In these days, when
religion and the Catholic faith are attacked on all sides and the true love of
God and genuine piety are lacking in so many places, it is doubly necessary
that the faithful should be strengthened and the love of God kindled in their
hearts by this saving practice of daily communion.”
