DIOCESAN YOUTH RALLY:- Attention all high school students.
Come and gather in Penticton on the weekend of October 17th
– 19th. Rediscover
your faith, be part of the youth community and have fun in the process.
Registration forms are available at either church entrance.

pick up a registration package. ** 50th Anniversary:- Our parish is
looking for volunteers to work on St. Pius Xth 50th
anniversary celebration. Please
contact the office if you can help. Pictorial directory:- Our parish is
planning a pictorial directory to celebrate our 50th anniversary.
There will be a photographer coming to our parish on Jan 13th – 17th.
For those who are going south, and wishing to be a part of the

sick and shut-in members of our parish in the hospital, in nursing homes and
in their own homes on a regular basis. We
meet on the first Wednesday of the month for growth opportunities and support.

of faith:- has
begun and is off to a great start. For
those who have not received a package in the mail, there is a table set up in
the hall with additional packages and someone to answer your questions.

JESUS THROUGH THE CHURCH:- is an
eight week series exploring the Catholic Church. Come and join us at St.
Pius X Church on Monday, October 20 at 6:30 PM as we begin this series of
video talks given by noted professor of theology Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio.
The talks are practical, entertaining, and enlightening and are faithful to
the orthodox teachings of the Catholic Church. We will begin with desert
and coffee followed by the video then a short discussion period.
Touching Jesus Through the Church covers such topics as Who needs the Catholic
Church; Getting More out of the Mass; and Personal Prayer. It is meant
to answer key questions for new as well as life-long Catholics. Phone

Breakfast:- this Sunday October 12th at St Pius X parish. CHILDREN’S
LITURGY:- is held Sundays at 11am mass. CATECHISM:- There will be no catechism classes on Tuesday
Oct 14 due to elections. Gospel Mission:- Our
parish is hoping to help out with supplying a meal or two at the Gospel
Mission. Those who are interested
in this type of involvement, please contact the office. TEMPORARY
CARETAKER:- Nuno and Maria will be taking a
well deserved holiday. We are
looking for someone who is willing to take on the responsibilities during
their absence: Oct 27th ‑ Nov 18th.

There will be a Special Guest speaker on the Eucharistic Congress held in

the 5:30 PM Mass at Immaculate Conception Church will be cancelled and replaced
with a 1 PM Mass. Many Canadians
celebrate Thanksgiving with the main dinner on Sunday, leaving Monday for
travel. We anticipate that there
would be a low attendance during the dinner hour, necessitating the change.
Sorry for any inconvenience. The
regular 5:30 PM Mass will resume as scheduled on 19 October.
Homelessness Awareness Week:- are the
days following Thanksgiving. There will be a presence around the city by
having "Stands Against Poverty & Homelessness" on: Life in the Spirit Retreat:- You are invited to participate in a
weekend Retreat at St. John Vianney Church, beginning the evening of Friday Oct.
17th and all day Saturday, Oct. 18th. The
purpose of the Retreat is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into a deeper
experience of prayer and into a more intimate relationship with God. Fr. Don Wilson
