THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible - Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter. Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.

On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly,

'The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know.'

Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius X

Pope Pius X

Pope Pius X had a tremendous effect on the many faithful who dared not approach the Eucharist on a frequent basis because of their unworthiness.  The errors of Jansenism had had a great effect on the Church for 200 years and there were still many who cowered at the thought of approaching God too readily.  “The primary purpose of the Holy Eucharist,” wrote Pius X in his 1906 decree, concerning frequent and daily communion, “is not that the honour and reverence due to our Lord may be safeguarded, not that the sacrament may serve as a reward of virtue, but that the faithful, being united to God by holy communion, may thence derive strength to resist sinful desires, to cleanse themselves from daily faults, and to avoid these serious sins to which human frailty is liable.”

Have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Weekend
