INFANTS? This question is one of the issues that will be
answered at our next session of Catholicism 201, a video course dealing with
what makes us particularly Catholic. We have completed two sessions dealing
with the history of the Church as established by Christ with Peter as the
“rock” of its foundation and the unbroken line of his successors.
Our next two sessions will deal with the Sacraments with special attention on
why we baptize infants. We meet on Monday evenings beginning at 6:00pm
with a shared meal, desert and coffee at 6:30 and the video at 7:00.
Please register for the meal by Saturday. If you miss the Saturday meal
registration or would simply like to join us for dessert, coffee, the video

Kelowna Chapter is hosting a "Silent Siege" on
Sat, Nov 21st from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Pandosy St.
across from KGH. The Siege is not a protest, but a silent prayer meeting
asking God to intervene and bring an end to abortion in our nation. Red tape
with the word life is placed over our mouths indicating solidarity with the
voiceless child in the womb. For information contact Dusty at kelowna@bound4life.ca or visit us on
facebook: Bound4life Kelowna. RACHEL'S VINEYARD For
healing after abortion, Rachael’s Vineyard provides prayer shawls to each
candidate who attends a Rachel's Vineyard retreat weekend.
Several ladies from our parishes make the shawls.
We are looking for someone to coordinate this ministry.
This person needs to be able to drive and have knowledge of knitting
and crocheting. We are looking
for someone to take over an already existing ministry that includes tasks such
as purchasing yarn, delivering yarn and picking up shawls as they are
completed by our crocheters and knitters, and wrapping and carding the shawls
in preparation for the retreat. Please
call Janet at (250) 762‑2273 if you are interested in this
ministry. HEY! A CITY-WIDE YOUTH NIGHT The Catholic National Evangelization Team (N.E.T.) is

seat to comfort. Open to all

to the St. Pius X Church Hall. A spaghetti dinner, ice breaker games, awesome
music, youth talks, small groups and drama skits all for $5 per person. Register by Nov 10th with your parish’s catechism
coordinator or with Ann Matthews at (250) 763‑7126 or annmatthews@shaw.ca.
You’re gonna love it!! PERPETUAL ADORATION Our communal worship at Mass must be together with
our personal worship of Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration in order that our love
may be complete. (Pope John Paul II) Jesus
is waiting for you. For an hour
with Jesus, phone (250) 860‑6444. Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius X
Pope
Pius X In regards to preparing children as young as
seven to receive Holy Communion, Pope Pius X maintained it was easier to speak
of how desirable and loving our Lord is to a child than to convince an adult
who is preoccupied with his or her unworthiness in receiving Christ.
Pope Pius X delighted in the letters he received from children and
parents. He loved to give them
communion from his own hands. As he had done throughout his life, he would even take time
to instruct children whenever possible.
