If you are hospitalized, please be sure to identify yourself as a Catholic. Do not hesitate to notify the Pastor of shut-ins or hospitalized parishioners. For emergencies, call 762-2587 at any hour.

MASS AT SANDALWOOD:  The next mass at the Sandalwood Retirement Home, (580 Yates) will be held May 8th, 10 a.m. with Msgr. Charlie Mulvihill officiating.

KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS BREAKFAST REMINDER:  Next Sunday, May 11th, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting their monthly breakfast after the Sunday Masses.

PASTORAL VISITORS MEETING The next meeting will be held in the Catechetical Centre (1056 Fuller Avenue) on Tuesday, May 6th at 1:30 p.m.  All those who visit the sick or shut-in members of our parish are invited to attend.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION FOR FAMILIES: The North Okanagan Deanery Family Life Ministry, in cooperation with the Kelowna Serra Club and St. Pius X Church, invites you and your family to learn more about reverence and Eucharistic Adoration at a family evening of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament with a special monstrance blessed by the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

SPECIAL MASS TIMES FOR TUESDAY:  The 5:15 mass is moved to 6 p.m. for one day only!  Our after-school catechism program concludes with a special mass hosted by the children and a closing party.  Everyone is welcome.  The 5:15 mass is moved to 6 p.m. for this day only!

MAY 5 MORNING MASS:  Monday morning this week at David Lloyd Jones will be a Communion Service.

 

FAMILY MINISTRY:  Fr. Bart is looking for a person who is willing to represent the parish on Kelowna’s Family Ministry Team.  This group of individuals helps coordinate Family Ministry Activities for the wider Catholic Community.  Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the Month.

REQUEST:  When patients are at Kelowna General Hospital from out of town for any extended time, it can be a hardship for family members to find accommodations.  If you would be willing to be on a list to billet family members of out-of-town Catholic patients, please call Sister Mary Ann at 762-6841.

15TH ANNUAL MASS FOR SHUT-INS:  The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is holding its 15th annual Mass for Shut-Ins at Immaculate Conception Parish (839 Sutherland Ave) on Saturday, May 24 at 11 am. All who are sick or shut in are invited to this special celebration of the Mass and anointing of the sick followed by a social and tea in the Parish Hall. We are inviting any parishioners who are not able to attend Mass in a church to attend. We can provide transportation for anyone who needs it and can arrange for wheel chair accessible vans if you need it. If you know of anyone who is shut in their homes or in a Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facility, please let us know and we will assist you in getting them to the Mass. It is wonderful healing Mass, full of God’s grace for all. MOTHERS' DAY FLOWERS:  Since 1983, Kelowna Right to Life has celebrated Mothers' Day with the sale of silk flowers.  This annual event focuses attention on the appreciation of motherhood while raising money to carry on pro-life educational work.  Silk Roses will be available before and after all Masses on Mothers' Day weekend.  The suggested donation is $1 each.
