Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius Xth

Fr. Giuseppe Sarto

Four years into his stay at the seminary, Giuseppe Sarto was asked to temporarily look after the Diocese while a new Bishop was being found.  Though he was somewhat reluctant to accept so great a task, he could only trust that the same colleagues who had voted for him would back him up by their help and support.  His role as administrator lasted less than a year but, he did the role justice.  By now, it was becoming obvious to those around him that this country pastor of humble beginnings would, one day, be entrusted a Diocese of his own.
