	Anointing of the Sick If you are hospitalized, please be sure to identify yourself as a Catholic. Do not hesitate to notify the Pastor of shut-ins or hospitalized parishioners. Once you pick up your envelopes and the label at the top has your name on it, you will not need to record your name on each envelope; the number identifies you and a tax receipt will be sent to you at the address you registered with.

HEALING THE WOUNDS OF ABUSE:- Doctor Theresa Burke, founder of Rachel’s Vineyard, a program for post-abortion recovery, will be in Kelowna speaking about Grief to Grace, a new program that she has developed for healing from abuse.  This event will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, at 7pm on May 20^th.  Grief to Grace is a psychological and spiritual journey for anyone who has suffered physical, sexual and emotional abuse or neglect.  With the blessing of Bishop John Corriveau, Grief to Grace is being launched here in our diocese.  An invitation to attend the May 20^th event, which includes refreshments, is extended to everyone.  Tickets are $15 each or $25 per couple, and are available at the Loaves and Fishes book store, ICC parish office, or Reach Out Youth Counselling Centre.  For more information call (250) 878-7603.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY:- The last Sunday for Children’s Liturgy will be May 31^st.  Have a good summer and thank you parents and children for your support.

SPRING BASICS OF THE FAITH FOR ADULTS:- The topic for this course is Prayer and Spirituality.  Friday May 22^nd 6:00 - 9:15pm & Sat 23^rd 8:30am - 3:30pm at St. Theresa’s Parish.  Lunch will be provided.

2^ND ANNUAL GOLF FOR LIFE CHARITY CLASSIC:- Please register now.  Event to be held at the beautiful Kelowna Springs Golf Club on Saturday, June 27^th!  This year's event features 9 holes of golf, prizes, dinner, a silent auction and guest speakers.  Dinner only tickets are available.  Please come out and enjoy a wonderful afternoon of golf and delicious dinner, all for a great cause: the cause of LIFE!

ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE WORKSHOP AND RETREAT:- May 29th – May 31st 2009, Selkirk College, Castlegar Campus Across the highway from Castlegar Airport 301 Frank Binder Way, Castlegar, BC.

VISION TV MASS NEWS:- The mass on Vision TV sponsored by St. Pius X Parish will take place Jan 4, 2010.  We have collected $2,066. The cost for a mass on Vision TV is $2,400. Another lunch is planned for May 31^st after the 11am mass.  Whatever money we make over and above the $344 needed for the Jan 4^th mass will be put in a fund to sponsor a mass in the future.  Please come and join us.

HEALING MASS:- May 26 at Immaculate conception church  Praise and Worship 6:30pm; Mass 7pm .  Come celebrate in praise and thanksgiving in anticipation of Pentecost.  Meet Jesus the healer in the Eucharist.  Refreshments in Charity Hall following Mass.  Everyone is welcome.

A TASTE OF AFRICA:- The CWL is putting on a dinner for Br. Bosco.  He will be giving a presentation.  The dinner is on June 9^th at 6:30pm at a cost of $15 each or $25 per couple.

50^th ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION:- Monsignor Charlie Mulvihill’s 50^th anniversary will take place Friday June 5^th at Immaculate Conception Parish. Monsignor Charlie will celebrate Mass at 5:00 pm followed by dinner in the Parish Centre. Tickets are available at ICC Office as of Monday May 11^th. $25 each. WORD OF LIFE:- meets at Immaculate Conception Parish the first Saturday of each month in Charity Hall at 9:45am. We read one line of scripture and a short commentary by Chiara Lubich foundress of the Focolare Movement. We then share our experiences of attempting to put the gospel into action over the month. All welcome.

SUMMER SCHOOL IN LITURGY:- Anyone interested in becoming well versed in all things to do with liturgy, the University of St. Paul offers a Summer Institute for lay people each summer.  This year’s dates: July 6^th to 17^th.  Contact the Parish Office for more information.

MASS AT THE HOSPITAL:- There is a weekly Wednesday Mass in the Kelowna General Hospital Chapel at 3:30pm.  All patients, staff, volunteers and visitors are welcome.

 

PERPETUAL ADORATION:- To make sure that we do not forget, Jesus gave us the Eucharist as a memorial of His love.  When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then; when you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now. THE MILITIA IMMACULATA (OKANAGAN):- will host a Marian Mass on Thur, May 21, 7 pm.  Fr. Cesar Macariola will celebrate this Mass @ ICC. Prayer intention for this month: Respect for life: pray to end abortion. Everyone welcome.

50^th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ENVELOPES:- Envelopes, that you can use to help defray the cost of our 50^th Anniversary Weekend (Aug 21^st – 23^rd), are available at the entrances to the church.  We are trying to keep the costs down to a minimum for the weekend activities, so that large families and parishioners on fixed income can participate.  Your contribution, at any time during the next few months, can be placed in the Sunday collection or brought to the office.  Thanks, Fr. BILLETING:- We are looking for billets for "Our Lady of Pentecost" summer leaders institute being held in Kelowna Sun Aug 9^th to Sat Aug 15^th at St. Elizabeth Seton House of Prayer.  Accommodation at Seton House is already full. PRO LIFE PRAYER VIGIL / MASS:- Thank you to everyone who attended & supported, for a tremendous response; especially to Fathers Peter, Wayne, Cesar, and Monsignor Charlie for concelebrating the mass, to the CWL for "goodies" the Krohn children for music, Mary Gallagher as pianist.  Please continue to pray for healing, forgiveness, & an end to abortion.  Thank you all!!  Eileen Collins
