PLEASE NOTE: There will be no 5:15 pm mass from Mon, Mar 8^th until Thu, Mar 11^th.  The 5:15 pm mass will resume on Fri, Mar 12^th.

There also will be no mass at the hospital on Wed Mar 10^th.

Those suffering from Celiac react negatively to gluten in wheat.  Since all communion hosts contain wheat, those suffering from Celiac are strongly encouraged to receive from the cup.  Please let the priest know prior to Mass and a special Communion cup will be blessed for this purpose and placed on the corner of the altar.  Due to the possibility of cross-contamination, no one receiving the Sacred Host should receive from this cup.

As part of our focus on the call of God, families are encouraged to sign up to take the Traveling Chalice home and pray the prayer before any family meal.  Please sign up on the sheet provided in the church.  This initiative will continue into spring.

Two bursaries are available to the baptized son, daughter or grandchild of a CWL member of St Pius X Council.  The student must be a 2010 graduate of School District #23 or Immaculata High School.  Other criteria apply.  Letters of application must be submitted by March 31^st, 2010.  For further information please contact Lucille Jakubec (250) 763‑4738

Because of Spring break the next Mass for the children’s choir will be April 11^th.  We will hold practice after catechism on Tuesdays – March 2^nd, March 23^rd and April 6^th.

We would ask that the wearing of perfumes and colognes be avoided as some parishioners have allergies to scents.

Practice for the Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil will be on each Wednesday after the 9:00 am morning Mass.  Anyone interested in joining us in singing these beautiful liturgies is welcome to attend.

We will continue our Sunday evening holy hours beginning with evening prayer at 7:00 pm.  As we continue the season of Lent, let us pray for a new spirit of conversion in our community.

We will host a Marian Mass on Wed, Mar 10^th at 7:00 pm at ICC.  Celebrant will be Fr. Sebastian Puthenpura, the Spiritual Director of the MI Okanagan.  Everyone invited, welcome to attend.  Coffee to follow mass.

Fundraising Dinner, Silent Auction, Entertainment and Raffle Draw will be held at Immaculate Conception Church Hall on Fri Apr 16^th.  Happy Hour at 5:30 pm and Dinner at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $25 per person / $50 per couple.  Tickets are available at Loaves & Fishes, at ICC Parish Office or Seton House of Prayer. Bev Smith has come forward and has agreed to be convener for this year’s bazaar. Seton House of Prayer Raffle Tickets are now available. Tickets are $2 each ($20 for a book.) 1^st Prize $1,000, 2^nd Prize $500, 3^rd Prize $300 and 4^th Prize $200.  Draw will be at the Seton House Fundraiser on April 16^th. Mass will be held each Sunday concluding on Mar 21^st.  All Masses will be at 3:30 pm in the Schumann House, at the top of the gondola.

Any parishioner who would like to pray in the church between the hours of 9:30 am – noon or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm can simply come to the office and they will be let in.

The Chrism mass will be held at the cathedral in Nelson on Monday, March 29^th at 7:00 pm.  This is a very beautiful mass in which the priests of the Diocese renew their vows and the holy oils are blessed for the year.  We are arranging a car pool for those who would like to attend.  We would drive up on Monday and return on Tuesday.  Supper is provided on Monday evening but they must know who is coming.  If you are interested, please contact the Parish Office at 250-762-2587.

St Pius X is hosting their Annual General Meeting on Sunday March 21^st from 2:00 – 3:00 pm in the Hall.  The meeting will include a report on finances, our latest renovations and ongoing concerns.  There will also be an opportunity for your questions and input.  Please bring a dessert for afterwards.

ICC Knights invite all to attend their Breakfast this Sunday Mar 7^th after the masses.

A workshop for all liturgical ministries –Eucharistic ministers, Music, Lectors, ushers/greeters and Adult Altar Servers – will be held on Saturday March 20^th, at 10:15 am.  Fr. Bart will be giving a presentation on Liturgy and its meaning.  All current members of these ministries are encouraged to attend as well as anyone who is interested in joining a liturgical ministry.  It is important that everyone takes the time to participate.
