AGM HIGHLIGHTS

Parishioners are welcome to attend parish council meetings.  If a parishioner wants to bring forth an item to the council, please get in touch with a member to have your request put on the agenda or drop a letter off at the Parish office to have their concern brought before council.  The parishioner is not obligated to stay until the end of the meeting.

The desire is to be a welcoming parish.  We, as a parish, need to build on a number of levels.  Those heavily involved are aging; we need younger people or spread the responsibilities over more individuals.

Father has the plans for the new renovations and made them available for viewing after the meeting.  We have not got a cost as yet.  The request for quotes has just gone out.  The cost of the renovations will come from the building account.

A parishioner commissioned a Divine Mercy stained glass window which will form one of the walls of the main confessional.  It will have lighting between the stained glass and the confessional wall.

The new confessionals will be larger, have better ventilation, better soundproofing and be a better environment for the parishioners making their Sacrament of Reconciliation.

All the fluorescent lights are in need of replacing as the old ones need parts that are now illegal to use.  It is possible we will be replacing the doors in the church.

THINKING ABOUT SEPARATION OR DIVORCE?

Retrouvaille is designed to help troubled marriages regain their health. It helps spouses uncover or re-awaken the love, trust and commitment that originally brought them together. The program is highly successful in saving hurting marriages, even bringing reconciliation to couples that have already separated or divorced. For confidential information about or to register for the program beginning with a weekend on the 30th of April, 2010, email 1009@retrouvaille.org OR call 604-530-6710 OR visit the web site at www.HelpOurMarriage.com
