Fr.
Giuseppe Sarto One day, when Guiseppe’s close friend dropped by for a word,
Guiseppe’s sister brought her case before him.
“He needs a new shirt,” she insisted, “but he never keeps money
long enough to spend it on himself.” “Leave
it to me,” was the friend’s reply. When
a salesman came to the door to sell them some material for a shirt,
Guiseppe’s friend proceeded to bargain.
When a good bargain was reached, he instructed the man to cut off the
material required and turned to Guiseppe for payment.
Guiseppe was not happy. “Even
my best friend turns against me.” But
he couldn’t do anything about it and the material was bought.
