http://www.devp.org/devpme/images/pub5EN_big.jpgDevelopment and Peace:  In the Pastoral Letter for the 40th Anniversary of Development and Peace the president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that the service and projects of Development and Peace show a solidarity that "affirms the dignity of the human person who is suffering because of natural disasters and the depredations of war, famine and poverty. The Bishops of Canada express their esteem and gratitude to all people of good will who have faithfully supported Development and Peace since its creation in 1967."  Next weekend we will have the opportunity to once again show this solidarity by supporting the Share Lent Collection.

NATIONAL TELEVISED MISSION 2008“Keeping a Mellow Heart in a Bitter Time” – Vision TV – March 3rd and 4th, 4 p.m.; repeated March 3rd and 4th at 8 p.m.  A powerful testimonial on this topic will be given by a father and his daughter, Tom and Barbara Zanzig.

ORDINATION DVD:  The Ordination Committee is pleased to make available DVD recordings of Bishop Corriveau's Ordination on 30 January, 2008.  The cost for the two hour recording is $12 each (which includes shipping within the diocese).  Please send your cheque, made payable to Immaculate Conception Church and drop it off to our parish office.  Thank you.

PREPARATION FOR HOLY WEEK:  Saturday, March 15th—9 am to 2 pm.  All are welcome to come to the St. Charles Garnier Parish Centre for our Lenten Retreat Day.  Bring your Bible and a brown bag lunch.  Coffee and tea will be provided.  Facilitators:  Sisters Rosemary Shannon and Anne McNally.  For information or to register please call Marilee (860-6776).

DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE PRESENTATION: Come and learn how some of our Share Lent Collection has been spent. Barry Nelson will talk and share about his trip to the Philippines with Development and Peace and show a video about the help it has given to those affected by the Tsunami.  We will then discuss how projects are chosen.  The meeting will be held in the Bedford Room at Immaculate Conception Parish Centre on Wednesday March 5th, at 7:30 p.m.  Come to learn and for the fellowship.  Everyone is welcome.

Praying while walking in front of KGH reminds everyone that abortion is evil and must be stopped.  It takes commitment and effort to keep the vigil, but it affirms your Faith and is a good Lenten project.
