	Anointing of the Sick If you are hospitalized, please be sure to identify yourself as a Catholic. Do not hesitate to notify the Pastor of shut-ins or hospitalized parishioners. For emergencies, call 762-2587 at any hour.		Once you pick up your envelopes and the label at the top has your name on it, you will not need to record your name on each envelope; the number identifies you and a tax receipt will be sent to you at the address you registered with.

 

 

 

 

 

 

THINKFAST:- St Pius X^th Parish is hosting a Lenten Thinkfast for youth and young adults on Fri Mar 6^th at 6:30pm and ending with Saturday evening mass.  Participants are asked to collect $20 or more in pledges.  Pledge forms are available from the Parish office (250) 762-2587.

EXTRA MASSES:- Fr Bart will be saying an extra mass weekdays at 5:15 pm during the season of Lent.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS:- Fridays during lent at 7 pm.  A short Lenten reflection to follow.

OZANAM HOUSE NEWS:- The mission of Ozanam House is one of Home, Health and Hope.  To provide a safe HOME for persons in Kelowna who are impoverished, destitute or affected by either mental or physical illness or drug and/or alcohol addictions.  To promote recovery of HEALTH through provision of clean affordable housing, with individual private rooms, home cooked meals, psychosocial support, medication management, holistic counselling, life skills training, opportunities for companionship and support, all within a stable drug and alcohol free environment.

To foster HOPE for present and future well-being through our professional staff providing an environment of mutual trust and respect, restoration of dignity and, along with established community resources people and services, opportunities for individual development for a return to independent living and a wholesome lifestyle.

PARISH MISSION:-  We are having a parish mission.  Our presenter will be Fr. David Tobin, CSsR. There will be an evening session, Sun Mar 15^th to Tues Mar 17^th at 7:00pm and there will be a series of shorter talks at the morning mass Monday Mar 16^th to Wednesday Mar 18^th at 9:00 am.  An opportunity for confessions will be given on Tues evening and Wed morning as part of the Mission. Please keep these dates open.

PARISH VISITORS:- We will meet Mar 4^th at noon.  Please note the change in time.

PRO LIFE THRIFT SHOP:- Spring is just around the corner and we are celebrating with a .25 cent per clothing item sale! We have new spring arrivals for the whole family and still some winter stock just in case that global warming avoids our area again this year. 50^th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ENVELOPES:- Attached to your bulletin you will find an envelope that you can use to help defray the cost of our 50^th Anniversary Weekend (Aug 21^st-23^rd).  We are trying to keep the costs down to a minimum for the weekend activities, so that large families and parishioners on fixed income can participate.  Your contribution, at any time during the next few months, can be placed in the Sunday collection or brought to the office.  Thanks, Fr. BISHOP JOHN’S VISIT:- Our Bishop has been travelling our Diocese and visiting with each parish and its parishioners by having a Mass followed by a Town Hall Meeting.  He would like to do the same with us Friday Mar 13^th at 7pm.  Please keep this date open and plan to attend.  Our Bishop is looking forward to hearing from us and sharing some of his ideas.

WORD OF LIFE:- Saturday March 7 @ 10:00 a m in Charity Hall at Immaculate Conception Parish. A line from scripture & a commentary on the scripture, by Chiara Lubich founder of the Focolare Movement, is read then we share our experiences of how we have attempted to live the gospel. All welcome.

HUNGARIAN MASS:- Sun, Mar 1^st starting at 6:00pm at St Theresa’s Church.  Social in hall to follow the mass.

CATHOLIC FAMILIES:- Did you know there is a calendar of city-wide events for Catholic families which is put out monthly by the North Okanagan Deanery Family Life Ministry (NOD flm)?  But you need to get on the email list to receive it: contact admin@okanagancatholic.ca.  (Your address will not be used for any other purpose!)

MASS AT THE HOSPITAL:-  Beginning on Mar 4^th, there will be a weekly Wednesday Mass in the Kelowna General Hospital Chapel at 3:30 pm.  All patients, staff, volunteers and visitors are welcome.

ATTENTION ALL MEN!!!:-  SPORTS N’ SPIRITS evening.  Wed. LITURGICAL MUSIC WORKSHOP:-  There will be a workshop for music ministry at St. Pius X church on Sat, March 14, 2009 at 1:30 pm.  All people currently involved with music ministry are urged to attend.  Anyone interested in becoming involved is also welcome.

CARMELITE SECULAR ORDER:- If you have a desire to deepen your prayer life; If you hunger for an increasingly deeper relationship with Our Lord; If you are seeking something more…….Maybe you are being called to the Discalsed Carmelite Secular Order. ST. PATRICK’S DAY:- Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a Tea and Bake Sale on Saturday March 14, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at St. Edward’s Parish Hall, Winfield.  Also included is special Irish Music and singing with Ceol na hEireann.  Sponsored by St. Edwards CWL - proceeds to Seton House of Prayer.

LENTEN MISSION:- Mar 4th -6th will be held at St Theresa’s Parish: Archbishop Emeritus Adam Exner OMI, will be present to lead us in a Lenten Mission.  There will be Mass @ 9am with a Lenten Reflection. The main Reflection will be in the evening at 7pm, followed by a Holy Hour.  Everyone is welcome to attend.
