Every liturgical celebration, because it is an action of Christ the priest and his body, which is the Church, is a preeminently sacred action. No other action of the Church equals its effectiveness... When present at this mystery of faith, Christian believers should take part in the sacred action, actively, fully aware, and devoutly. They should be formed by God's word, and be nourished at the table of the Lord's Body. They should give thanks to God... Through Christ, the Mediator, they should be drawn day by day into ever more perfect union with God and each other, so that finally God may be all in all. The Liturgy Committee is there to assure that all the events of Christ's life are celebrated or relived in a meaningful way. The committee consists of people who meet about 4 or 5 times a year, usually before a special feast such as Lent, Christmas, Easter and Advent. Planning and discussions include the ritual that is followed and imaginations are needed to help make Liturgy more meaningful to parishioners. Are you gifted with a creative spirit? You may want to be part of this committee.
