RECYCLE OLD SCHOOL SUPPLIES:- School is soon over so this is the time we ask all school children to save their partially used supplies like crayons, scribblers, pencils, picture books, anything that a poor child in a third world country would love to have .  Ask your school to gather them up and call Rosemary at (778) 478‑2156 and her group will be so happy to pick them up.

CATECHISM NEWS:- Registration forms are being sent out for next term.  We will begin Catechism on Sept 15th.  Please fill out your registration forms and either put them in the collection in an envelope marked “Catechism Registration” or bring them to the office.  If you need a registration form for your child for next term, you can pick one up at the office.

THANK YOU:- to Delma MacDonald, Stella Malcynski, the Bjur Family, Marie-Jeanne McLellan and Mr. & Mrs. Tran for donations to the flowers this month.  They truly enhance our Sunday celebrations.  Any donations from your gardens will be most welcome.  Simply place them in the bucket of water at the Fuller St. entrance and we will take care of them.  Greenery is especially welcome as it enhances the arrangements.  If you prefer to make a monetary donation, mark it “For Flowers” and place it in the regular collection.

TRAINING SUMMER SEMINARS 2009:- Western Canadian Association Of Catholic Youth Ministers Saskatoon, SK: July 24th – 30th, 2009 Training, support, and resources for youth ministers, teachers, catechists, parish workers and other ministers in Western Canada.  For more information call Odile (403) 995-2201 or email jacinthe@sitescapers.com

PEOPLE OF FAITH:-  Prayer meeting will meet on Wednesdays at 10am in Charity Hall behind Immaculate Conception Church. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer of praise, worship, thanksgiving, and intercession.

SETON HOUSE OF PRAYER FUNDRAISER:- Fri, June 19th at Immaculate Conception Parish Centre. Join us for dinner, silent auction, raffle draw and enjoy the music of Ceol na hEireann (Music of Ireland). SUMMER SCHOOL IN LITURGY:- Anyone interested in becoming well versed in all things to do with liturgy, the University of St. Paul offers a Summer Institute for lay people each summer.  This year’s dates: July 6th to 17th.  Contact the Parish Office for more information.

VBS 2009 - CANCELLED! Unfortunately our Deanery Vacation Bible School (July 13-17) has been cancelled this summer. We did not have enough volunteers to run the program. If you would like to join a steering committee for VBS 2010, please speak with your parish priest. Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in West Kelowna, however, welcomes families to join them for their Cat Chat summer camp August 17 - 21. Phone OLOL parish for more info. (250) 768‑4114

FATHER ROLAND DUBOURT:- of the White Fathers will be in Kelowna and we have invited him to speak on his work in Tanzania, Africa at a Luncheon on Mon June 22nd, at ICC Hall at 12:00pm.  Cost is $5.00. Everyone is welcome.  


SPANISH MASS:- will be held at St Theresa’s Parish on Sun, June 28th @3pm.  Social in parish hall to follow.

MASS AT THE HOSPITAL:- There is a weekly Wednesday Mass in the Kelowna General Hospital Chapel at 3:30pm.  All patients, staff, volunteers and visitors are welcome.

THE MILITIA IMMACULATA OKANAGAN:- The monthly mass in honour of Our Blessed Mother is on the 3rd Thursday of each month @ ICC, 7 pm.  Celebrant:  Fr. Cesar Macariola.  June mass is scheduled for June 18.  Everyone Welcome. 

SUMMER RETREAT:- Young Adults (18-35)  July 7-9th at Camp Arbuckle in Lake Country. Deadline for Registration is Sunday June 28th. Cost is $75/person or $50/Students subsidized by the Deanery (Includes Retreat fees, Food & Accommodation) if you are in need of further financial assistance for this please speak to your Pastor. HOUR OF ADORATION:- St. Charles Garnier Youth/Young Adult Ministry is hosting another hour of Adoration immediately following the final blessing at this Sunday's 7pm Mass in honour of the Feast of Corpus Christi. There will be Praise & Worship as well as Devotional Candles provided to light for your intentions. All are welcome!

KELOWNA RIGHT TO LIFE:- Stephanie Gray will be our keynote speaker at our fundraising dinner on June 27th! Miss Gray is one of Canada’s foremost pro life apologists and is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Bio-ethical Reform in Calgary.  She has given pro-life presentations across North America and in the United Kingdom, and has debated many abortion advocates in formal debate settings.  Stephanie will be joining other presenters for an evening of insight and entertainment you won’t want to miss!

Bishop Giuseppe Sarto

In speaking to a group of young men, Bishop Sarto was quick to point out that “Religion has no fear of science.  Christianity does not tremble before discussion, but before ignorance.”  He continued by telling the group that faith should never be rejected without a close study of it.  Too many people walk away from the teachings of the church without ever truly knowing them or examining them.
