PREPARING FOR EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS:  All parishioners are asked to spend some time this week meditating on the following passage:

The Gift is Jesus!

A Samaritan woman came t draw some water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink of water.”  (His disciples had gone into town to buy food.)  The woman answered, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan—so how can you ask me for a drink?”  (Jews will not use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)

Jesus answered, “If you only knew what God gives and who it is that is asking you for a drink, you would ask him, and he would give you life-giving water.”

“Sir,” the woman said, “you don’t have a bucket, and the well is deep.  Where would you get that life-giving water?  It was our ancestor Jacob who gave us this well; he and his children and his flocks all drank from it.  You don’t claim to be greater than Jacob, do you?”  Jesus answered, “Those who drink this water will get thirsty again, but those who drink the water that I will give them will never be thirsty again.  The water that I will give them will become in them a spring which will provide them with life-giving water and give them eternal life.”  “Sir,” the woman said, “give me that water!  Then I will never be thirsty again, nor will I have to come here to draw water.”

John 4.7-15

YOUR PARISH NEEDS YOU

With the new screen now in place, the choirs need people who could operate the overheads.  Please contact Meg at 762-8274 or meg@greenwoodtechnology.com if you could help out one of the choirs with this very essential ministry.  We would provide training if you feel a little timid.

Altar Guild:  We are forming an Altar Guild that would take care of setting up for the weekend Masses, launder the altar cloths and arrange flowers.  Not all people would have to do all things and we would rotate weekends depending on how many people are interested.  This is a very fulfilling ministry.  Please contact Meg at 762-8274 or meg@greenwoodtechnology.com if you are interested.

KofC JUNE BREAKFAST:  The Knights of Columbus will be hosting the June breakfast next weekend after Sunday masses.

PARENTS AND CHILDREN ARE INVITED:  to celebrate mass at 9am Friday the 6th with other families.  Fellowship and snack will follow in the Hall after mass.  For more information please call Teresa at 769-1109.

Text Box:

A woman’s mental picture of “mother” is determined first of all by her own mother. Her perception of her mother will attach meanings to her own sense of herself as a maternal person. In many cases, the choice to abort is subconsciously driven by a need to act out mother-daughter conflicts.
