Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius X

Pope Pius X

Pope Pius X died on August 20th 1914.  On his tomb is written: “Pope Pius X, poor yet rich, meek and humble of heart, undaunted champion of the Catholic faith to restore all things in Christ, having done so much died holily August 20 A.D. 1914.”  By 1923 his case was introduced by Cardinal Aidan Gasquet and in 1951, Pope Pius XII solemnly declared him blessed.  Three years later, on May 29th 1954, he was enrolled among the saints.  In 1959, only five years later, our parish was founded and named after this well-loved pope.  Saint Pius X pray for us before the Throne of God’s Grace.
