PRACTICE:- Please

prepare for singing the Easter Triduum – Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the
Vigil Mass. Practices will be
held on Thursday evenings at 7:15pm in the church beginning Thursday, Feb 5th.
If God has blessed you with a musical gift, come and share it with us
as we celebrate His passion, death and resurrection. WORLD
DAY OF THE SICK:- To commemorate the Feast of our
Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick, Fr. Bart will be available
to anoint all those who come forward at the 9am Mass on Wed Feb 11th.
The Church recommends the sacrament for all those afflicted with a
serious illness (either chronic or terminal), those awaiting surgery (even if
it involves only moderate risk), those who, because of age, would be in danger
of death and all those whose death is imminent.
The Anointing has two purposes: Healing and Salvation through the
Saving Death and Resurrection of our Lord.
Although the sacrament also contains the forgiveness of sins, the
church teaches that it is not meant to be used as a substitute to Confession,
but, especially in cases of extreme illness, is meant to provide the means for
forgiveness to those who are unable to confess their sins. VOCATION

Fr.
Giuseppe Sarto Giuseppe Sarto’s first priestly appointment was as curate (assistant) at
Tombolo. St. Andrew’s was a
rural parish surrounded by dairy and cattle farmers.
The parish priest, Fr. Constantini, was an exemplary priest but
suffered from many ailments. Giuseppe
spent many days tending to the parish’s needs and taking on extra duties to
lighten his mentor’s load. Fr.
Constantini once wrote to a friend, “With orders to form him to the duties
of a parish priest, I assure you it is likely to be the other way about.” Considering his many good qualities, Fr Constantini was
positive that his young assistant would one day be a bishop – “and
afterwards? …. Who knows?”
