DURING LENT: In addition to the regular masses St. Pius X will celebrate a
5:15 p.m. mass Monday thru Friday. STATIONS
OF THE CROSS: will
be prayed at St. Pius X each Friday during Lent at 7PM. All parishioners are encouraged to attend. LENTEN
RETREAT:
Father Bart will be offering a Lenten meditation on Friday evening
after Stations of the Cross. It
will conclude by 8 p.m. All

a.m. Mass. God Bless. MUSIC PRACTICE FOR THE HOLY WEEK AND EASTER MASSES: will
be held Thursday evenings at 7:15 PM in St. Pius X church. Please come
and join the choir as we prepare to celebrate these great feasts. PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: Anyone
wishing to attend, the next meeting of the Parish Council is February 27th,
2008, 7 p.m. in the Father Martin Room. INCOME TAX RECEIPTS/2008 ENVELOPES: The
receipts are in the Hall in alphabetical order. Please call the office if you need a correction.

We will be discussing Chapter 7, “The
Parables”. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION URGENT APPEAL: We
are again looking for a Catechist to help out until the end of the year.
We are looking for a two months commitment on Tuesday between 6 and 7

OF ST. VINCENT de PAUL & INN
FROM THE COLD-KELOWNA:
Here is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people at
risk of homelessness. St. Vincent de Paul and the Inn from the Cold-Kelowna
are working together to provide in-home support for those recently homeless or
at-risk of homelessness. All
caring people of good will are invited to join in this service.
Please come to an orientation meeting at St. Pius X Church, Fuller at
Gordon, Monday March 3, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, in the Father Martin Room.
There will be a brief introduction, followed by short presentations
from community outreach workers, with time allotted for questions.
Topics will include guidelines and pointers for this service,
coordination of volunteers and clients and access to professional assistance
when required. If you are looking
for a meaningful volunteer role, with wonderful people and the chance to make
a positive difference in someone’s life, please join us!

There will be an Altar Servers practice on Friday 29 February at 4:00
pm in the church. Pizza will be served after and then we will attend the
Stations of the Cross. We will be

MASS, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST: Is cancelled;
however, there will be a 5:15 p.m. Mass that day.
SETON HOUSE OF PRAYER:
A day of reflection given by Fr. Bart van Roijen on Thursday February
28. The day starts with mass at 9 am and closes at 3pm. Everyone
is welcome to come set the day apart for the Lord. Cost is $15.

VISITORS MEETING will be held in the Catechetical Centre on Tuesday,
March 4th at 1:30 p.m. All those who visit the sick or shut-in
members of our parish are invited to attend.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY NEWS:
We are constantly reminded of Jesus’ call to help those in our community who
are suffering and in need. We ask for your help in answering this call by
giving to our collection taken up on the first Sunday of every month. See you

BEDFORD FUND BREAKFAST: Mark
your calendars for the 13th annual fundraising breakfast which was postponed
last month to the last month in February. The breakfast will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish
Hall on Sunday, February 24th, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Breakfast will include eggs, bacon, ham, fruit, toast,
coffee, etc. for only $5.50 per person or $22.00 per family. A draw of $300.00 worth of food certificates will be held for
those who made donations of $10.00 or more to the Wayne Bedford Fund as a way
of saying “Thank you” for your donation. BEAT THE WINTER BLUES: The band students of
Immaculata Regional High School are hosting an evening of music, dance, comedy
and fine desserts and refreshments on Friday, February 29th at 7:00
at Immaculata. Tickets are $10
per person and are available from all grade 9 – 12 band students or by
calling the school at 762-2730. All
proceeds for this event go to offset the cost of the Band Trip to Victoria.

REGISTRATION:
St. Joseph Elementary School is
accepting applications for the kindergarten classes commencing September 2008.
Students should be five years old by December 31, 2008.
Please call for an appointment for you and your child to meet with the
principal (763-3371). There are only 40 kindergarten spaces, call early to avoid
disappointment. EUCHARISTIC
CONGRESS, QUEBEC, JUNE 15 – 22 ($400 REIMBURSEMENT): The Pilgrimage of Faith will reimburse $400 per person for
confirmed registered pilgrims from our dioceses who attend this Congress.
This is the final call for registrations.
The cost is now $230 and there are good air fares available to Quebec
City. At present, we have 15 confirmed pilgrims from across the

MEXICO MISSION TEAM AT IMMACULATA REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: is pleased to announce an opportunity for you to host one of
the best private or corporate parties in the valley. The Lake Country Big Band has agreed to be auctioned
off for a private function with all proceeds going to support the 2008 Mission
to Mexico. The mission team will be traveling to Cuauhtémoc in the state
of Chihuahua this March to build two houses for families in extreme need.
This is a win-win situation. The lucky winning bid will have one of the
best musical groups in the valley playing at their very own function and the
mission will benefit from the funds raised.
Bidding will occur from 9:00 am on February 27 and close at 3:00 pm on

some of the best entertainment possible. PRAYER ACTIVITY DURING LENT: As
a prayer activity during Lent, please consider taking part in the Prayer Vigils
on Tuesdays at Kelowna General Hospital where abortions are done. Join
like-minded Christians who give witness to their Faith by praying for an end to
this inhuman practice in our society. Praying while walking in front of KGH
reminds everyone that abortion is evil and must be stopped. It takes
commitment and effort to keep the vigil, but it affirms your Faith and is a good
