CANADIAN FOOD FOR CHILDREN:
Canadian Food for Children began in 1985 by
a Canadian doctor, Andrew Simone and his wife at the request of Mother Teresa.
CFFC is a non-denominational registered charity and issues tax receipts
for monetary donations. Two-thirds
of all donations are food but we deal only with children's needs like linens,
clothing, toys, and school supplies. Most of our donations are sent to
hospitals and orphanages. All
work is done by volunteers. Some
collect soap from hotels, some sew, knit, or refurbish dolls. Some come to our
house {11210 Mimac Rd.} weekly to sort and pack the donations. Local grocery
stores supply the banana and orange boxes for packing and Diamond Delivery
takes our shipments free to Langley where they are loaded into containers
and sent to the needy areas of the world.
