& PEACE
–
I believe, I give! Peace
on Earth is founded on justice, solidarity and respect for the dignity of
human life at every stage, in every condition, in relation to the common good.
Development and Peace was founded by the Canadian Catholic Bishops 40
years ago to promote Peace through Development.
Enabling the peoples of the
Global South to develop their agricultural and infrastructure systems,
supporting grassroots industry, promoting
Justice in all its facets – this
is what we do. By “we”
we mean the Canadian Catholic Church, for without the donations received each
year through the Share Lent Campaign and from the “Share Year Round”
program none of this work would be possible.
The Government of Canada matches every dollar that is given to D&P
so please put your hard earned dollars to work for the good of our less
fortunate fellow world citizens. The enclosed Lifestyle Awareness Calendar is
designed to remind us of the disparity of economy, justice and respect for the
dignity of human life between the peoples of our planet. Please use it
prayerfully. Put a label on a jar
on the kitchen counter and encourage the family to contribute daily throughout
Lent. MUSIC PRACTICE FOR THE HOLY WEEK AND EASTER MASSES: will be held Thursday evenings at 7:15 PM in St. Pius church beginning this Thursday. Please come and join the choir as we prepare to celebrate these great feasts.

STAMPS:
I want to thank the Knights of Columbus for their hundreds of stamps
they handed in. Also everyone
else who so faithfully saves them and cuts them.
It saves me a lot of time and work.
Just one thing, when you cut them, only leave ¼ of an inch around
them, otherwise I have to cut them again.
Thank you, Sue. GIVE

This year's theme is Catholic
Schools . . . Weaving a Tapestry of Faith, a theme which focuses on how we
are called to live our faith. The
seven Catholic schools in the Nelson Diocese join all Catholic schools of the
province (approximately 100) to celebrate and reflect on their saving mission
within the Church. We ask that all
parishioners in the diocese join in prayer this week for the success and
continued blessing of Catholic Education in our diocese and for the opportunity
that students have in receiving a faith-filled education in a Catholic
environment. At this time, sincere thanks
are extended to the many parishioners and church organizations throughout the
diocese, such as parents, volunteers, CWL and Knights of Columbus, for their
ongoing support of our schools through volunteer activities, donations,
financial assistance, and prayers. We
do appreciate all your support. Feel free to visit the
Nelson Diocesan Schools' website for more information about the schools of the
diocese (www.cisnd.ca). IMMACULATA
