  OLD TESTAMENT/NEW TESTAMENT

[In the words of a young – 7 year old theologian . . .] After the Old Testament came the New Testament.  Jesus is the star of the New Testament.  He was born in Bethlehem in a barn.

‘I wish I had been born in a barn, too, because my mom is always saying to me, Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.’

Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius X

Pope Pius X

A young priest, tortured by doubts, knelt broken at the Pope’s feet.  Like the father in Rembrandt’s painting of the Prodigal Son, Pope Pius X bent compassionately over the man, cradling the young priest with his strong and gentle hands close to his heart.  “Faith, faith, faith,” repeated the soothing voice over and over again.  “Faith, my son, must be your place of refuge.”
