Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius X

Pope Pius X

A missionary from Oceania once visited Pope Pius X and was completely captivated by the attention the pope gave him.  When he told of the great hardships he and his fellow missionaries had to endure out of love for their people and the Gospel, the pope gave him his undivided interest.  “Tell them to devote themselves there without counting the cost,” he said.  “It is the most important thing of all.  The missions are my greatest consolation.”
