50th
ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND:-
Our 50th Anniversary is fast approaching; Aug 21st –
Aug 23rd. Friday, Aug
21st is the banquet (do you have your tickets?), Saturday Aug 22nd
is our Open House from 1pm – 4pm; view some history and have the children
take part in our kids activities, and on Sunday Aug 23rd; one mass
at 10am with Bishop Cooney and Bishop Corriveau presiding. BAZAAR
CONVENERS NEEDED:-
Apple Pie Making, Treasures, Grand Raffles, Set up & Takedown,
Children’s Toys & Games and the Cake Walk.
It is the Parish’s biggest fund raiser and lots of fun but we need
your help. Any booths that do not
have a convener will have to be dropped from the bazaar.

If you have flowers you would like to donate please bring them to the church
on Saturday morning between 9 am and 10:30 am. QUILT
RAFFLE TICKETS:-
Please pick up your books. The
success of this fund raiser depends on your continued support.
Last year our proceeds exceeded $4,000 for the Parish. MARRIAGE
PREPARATION:-
A four week Marriage preparation course will begin at St. Charles Gamier on
Tuesday, August 25th at 7:00 pm. The
cost is $60.00 per couple. CATECHISM
NEWS:-
We will begin Catechism on Sept 15th.
Please fill out your registration forms and either put them in the
collection in an envelope marked “Catechism Registration” or bring them to
the office. If you need a
registration form for your child for next term, you can pick one up at the
office. CHILDREN’S
LITURGY:-
We will be having Children’s Liturgy after the 11am Mass beginning again in
September. We do have teachers
for the ministry. However, in order to serve the children better, each teacher
will need an assistant, could be a student.
The duties will be to assist the teacher one Sunday a month.

Annual Outdoor Mass of Thanksgiving will be in Mary’s Grove on Sun,
Aug 16 at 2 pm. Reception

Cardinal
Giuseppe Sarto During the early stages of the Papal election
of 1903, Cardinal Rompolla was getting the majority of the votes but, by the
end of the third vote he had not received the two-thirds approval of the
conclave. It was then that the
Cardinal of Kracow read a letter from the Emperor Franz Joseph excluding
Cardinal Rampolla from election. Though
the letter was an obvious sign of interference and was received with
disapproval, it had its effect. Though
Cardinal Rompolla enjoyed great support, his vote count had stalled.
In the meantime, Cardinal Sarto’s vote count continued to mount.
