BASICS OF FAITH WORKSHOP:  The Diocesan Religious Education Office is offering a day-long workshop on Liturgy and Sacraments.  Though this workshop is primarily intended for those who are teaching our young people in our various programs, parents, grand-parents and other interested parishioners are welcome to attend.  The workshop will take place at St. Charles Garnier Parish on Friday, May 9th from 6:45 – 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 10th starting with mass at 8:30 a.m. and running until 4 p.m.  Fr. Bart will be the main presenter.  Pre-registration is required.  Registration forms are available in the office.  The $10 fee covers the cost for the lunch that is provided.

FR. PIERRE RICHARD FOURTH DEGREE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS:  The regular meeting of Fr. Pierre Richard Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus is this Tuesday, April 22, beginning with mass at 7:30 pm. at the Columbus Centre 1161 Sutherland Ave.

NOTICE TO ALL EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS:  The date and time of the Eucharistic Ministers Workshop has been changed to Monday, April 21st, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

APRIL 26th CONFESSIONS:  There will be no Saturday afternoon confessions April and 26th due to the fact that Father Bart is not available.

RACHEL’S VINEYARD CANADIAN REGIONAL CONFERENCE:  July 22-25th, 2008 at Rosemary Heights Retreat Centre, Surrey BC.  Internationally acclaimed Theresa Burke, PhD, NCP, LPC, and Kevin Burke, M.S.S., LSW, of Philadelphia will be the presenters.  The Burkes are co-founders of Rachel’s Vineyard, a program of healing after abortion and the new healing retreat for victims of sexual abuse.  “From Grief to Grace - Reclaiming Your Sexual Dignity”; this conference will be of special interest to clergy, mental health professionals, teachers, medical personnel, social workers, counselors, Rachel’s Vineyard team members and alumni and anyone who desires to learn more about post-abortion trauma and recovery, and healing from sexual abuse.  The conference is hosted by the Kelowna and Vancouver Rachel’s Vineyard sites.  For more information and registration details, visit www.rachelsvineyardcanadianconfernce.com or call Janet Kormish at 250-762-2273 or Michele Smillie at 604-443-3256.  Please register early as space is limited.

CHARISMATIC PRAYER:  meeting meets every Tuesday in Charity Hall behind Immaculate conception Church, at 7pm.  Join us in prayers of  praise, thanksgiving, intercession and petition. For inf. call 452-6898.

EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS, QUEBEC, JUNE 15 – 22 ($400 REIMBURSEMENT):  The Pilgrimage of Faith will reimburse $400 per person for confirmed registered pilgrims from our dioceses who attend this Congress.  This is the final call for registrations.  The cost is now $230 and there are good air fares available to Quebec City.  At present, we have 15 confirmed pilgrims from across the Diocese.  Contact Father Clarke at Sparwood for more information:  hjclarke@shaw.ca, or 250 425 6444.

PERPETUAL ADORATION:  “Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to my mercy.”  Jesus told St. Mary Faustina that the Blessed Sacrament is the “throne of my mercy on earth,” and to daily “Adore, in the Blessed Sacrament, My Heart which is full of mercy.”  (Divine Mercy Diary)  Could you take an hour a week with Jesus?  He is really wishing to see you!  Phone 860-6444.

ROSARY FOR PEACE & FOR FAMILIES:  “The power of the rosary is beyond description” (Archbishop Fulton Sheen).  The rosary is prayed every Friday at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church.  Please join us.

A PLAY YOU DEFINITELY DON'T WANT TO MISS:  Fr. Edward Evanko as DAMIEN. Story by Aldyth Morris will be at the Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1091 Coronation Ave., on Friday, April 25th at 7 PM. Tickets are on sale now for $20.00 including wine and cheese reception after the play. It is the story of a Catholic missionary who devoted his life to ministering to the lepers on the Hawaiian island of Molokai.  Fr. Edward Evanko is a Broadway actor and singer who became a Ukrainian Catholic priest and now serves the Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Richmond, BC. Before his ordination to the priesthood in 2005, Evanko had appeared in more than 200 musicals in Canada, the United States and Japan. In the 1960s he hosted his own national (Canadian) television series, "The Ed Evanko Show".  Damien has been so successful that he has been invited to perform it in Melbourne and in Sydney, Australia, as part of World Youth Day 2008.  Limited Tickets Available: Call: 250-860-7295
