OZANAM HOUSE NEWS:- We have 18 residents with the possibility of 19.  There is one room that has 2 beds and we will access that bed on a short term basis when needed.

Ozanam House has a good reputation in the community and the other recovery facilities in the area like to send their clients to us when the fit is suitable.

Five of our residents are benefiting from education grants.  The courses they are enrolled in are aiding in their growth.

A number of men from Ozanam House have been helping move things in the Right To Life Thrift Shop because a fire wall needs to be installed.  This fire wall is needed so that the Inn From The Cold program, which is above the Thrift Shop, can operate next fall.  The help the men have provided is greatly appreciated.

Ozanam House has been nominated for the “City of Kelowna Volunteer Organization Award”.  The winner will be announced at a dinner April 30th.

Ozanam House is always in need of donations.  If you wish to help, put your donation in an envelope marked “Ozanam House” and put it into the collection in your parish.

Tidbits from the Life of St. Pius Xth

Fr. Giuseppe Sarto

In his duties at the cathedral, Giuseppe Sarto took on the task of instructing children for their first Holy Communion.  A few of his fellow priests complained: “You are taking on too much.”  But Giuseppe disagreed, “It is part of my ministry and I am deeply concerned about them.”  And so, he deprived himself of his evening walk and held his students spellbound as he explained the mysteries of the Church.
