IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL FAMILIES

REGISTERING FOR

CATECHISM

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

St. Pius X parish is once again offering the Religious Education Program for children that do not attend Catholic schools. We invite you to register your child or children on Sunday, September 7 in the hall from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. If you have not previously registered at St. Pius X, please bring a copy of your child’s Baptism certificate. Students who will be attending Year 2 or Year 7, please bring a picture of your child if possible.

Classes will be held Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m. and finish at 5:15 p.m. The Year 7 class will be held in the church hall Sunday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will finish at 8:00 p.m. The opening session will be Tuesday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. This first session will be for all students, including Year 7. Any special events or masses, all students will be asked to attend. Please remember that all students must complete all six years previous to year 7 before receiving confirmation. The cost will be – one child $40, two children - $70, three children (or more) - $90.

Our newsletter, The Catechism Courier, is published once a month and given to a student in each family at the beginning of the month. Please read this newsletter. It is through the newsletter and bulletin that we communicate information to you.

The Year 6 class is still in need of a teacher. If you can help, please let me know. This class could be held Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. The lessons are laid out in a manual and I am there to help you. You do not need to have a teacher certificate! All you need is a little time, love the Lord and enjoy the young people.

We have an exciting year coming up and I am looking forward to working with you and enabling your children to learn our faith. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to phone me or come see me at the parish center. My home number is 862-5736.
